• Student: Child, age 15

• Location: Greer, South Carolina – near Trail Branch Ct.

• Preferred start date: ASAP

• Lesson format: Face-to-face, in-person

Details

• Availability: Tuesday and Thursday between 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

• Lesson Frequency: 2 times per week

• Lesson Duration: 1 hour each

• Current level: Intermediate

• Native/other languages: Portuguese (native), Spanish (other)

• Goals:

  • Improve speaking, self-expression, and overall communication

  • Grammar, vocabulary building, and common phrases

  • Texting, slang, and polite expressions in daily life

  • Writing, reading, and making friends

• Interests: Sports, sports cars, fishing, history, American historical figures

• Additional requirement: Structured classes with plenty of conversation

Responsibilities

• Design structured lessons with strong focus on conversation practice

• Integrate grammar, vocabulary, slang, and common expressions into real-life contexts

• Provide practice in reading, writing, and social communication

• Incorporate the student’s interests (sports, history, cars) into lessons to boost engagement

• Support the student in adapting to social and cultural aspects of life in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in English

• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, linguistics, or related field

• Experience teaching teenagers, ideally in academic and conversational settings

• Ability to balance structured lesson planning with interactive, interest-based activities
