We are hiring an English language teacher to provide customized in-person lessons to this client in Portland, Oregon.
What We Offer
You will have an active and independent role as a language teacher.
Once onboarded, you'll have access to the teachers' platform and receive additional students. With the assistance of your Talent Success Coach, you can accept the classes that match your schedule and preferences. You have complete control over your lessons, and we don't require a minimum number of hours weekly or monthly.

- Student: 1 child (4-years-old)
- Availability: Wednesdays or Thursdays, 4 pm - 5 pm
- Lesson Frequency: 1x per week; 45-minute lessons in person
- Lesson location: Portland, OR 97229 (near Well & Good Cafe - Bonny Slope on 11200 NW Thompson Rd)
- Current English level: Beginner - He has had exposure to English in a German International Preschool
- Native languages: German
- Student's language needs and goals: The parents would like the teacher to help their son speak to other children and adults and help him gain the confidence to talk.
- Additional information: He is interested in playing with cars, Lego, puzzles, magnet tiles, and Hot Wheels. The lessons should focus on common phrases native speakers use daily, pronunciation, school-related vocabulary, and making friends.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that inspire and motivate students.
- Design and implement customized curricula in alignment with learners' proficiency levels and objectives.
- Track and assess student progress, guiding them to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with students, ensuring a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- To have native or near-native proficiency in the written and spoken target language.
- To have a degree or certification in language teaching, education, instructional design, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or a related field.
- To have at least two years of ESL teaching experience
- Experience working with children is a must
