Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring an English Language Teacher to provide in-person lessons to two children.

• Students: Two 6-year-old twins (twin boys) – individual, back-to-back lessons
• Location: Metairie, Louisiana – near Hector Avenue
• Preferred start date: ASAP
• Lesson format: Face-to-face, in-person

Details

• Availability: Tuesday after 4:00 PM
• Lesson Frequency: 1 time per week per child
• Lesson Duration: 45 minutes per child (back-to-back)
• Current English level: Complete Beginner
• Native/other languages: Spanish

Students’ language needs and goals:

• Adapt quickly to the school environment
• Grammar foundations
• Build essential vocabulary (numbers, colors, animals, etc.)
• Listening comprehension strategies and practical tips
• Improve pronunciation and understand local accents
• Learn common daily phrases and native expressions
• Practice real conversations with native speakers
• School-related vocabulary support
• Public transportation vocabulary and usage practice
• Make friends and navigate social communication confidently

Additional Information

• Teacher must have experience working with young children
• Lessons should include playful, engaging, age-appropriate activities
• Students enjoy: playing games, animals, numbers, colors, and interactive learning

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, child-friendly English lessons
• Teach beginner grammar and essential vocabulary
• Support school adaptation and social communication skills
• Include real-life scenarios (school, transport, friendships, daily phrases)
• Build pronunciation, listening, and conversational confidence
• Use playful and interactive activities to encourage natural speaking
• Provide supportive feedback tailored to each child
• Maintain engagement in back-to-back sessions

Qualifications

• Native or near-native English proficiency
• Teaching certificate or degree in education, linguistics, or related field
• Experience teaching young children (required)
• Ability to create engaging, practical, and culturally relevant lessons
• Strong communication skills, patience, and ability to sustain child conversations
