French Language Teacher in Geneva (Swiss Citizenship Expert)
Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are currently hiring a French Language Teacher (FLE) to provide hybrid (virtual + in-person) lessons to our client in Geneva.
Job Information:
Ref. # 200101: 1 adult (female).
Location: The student will alternate between face-to-face and virtual lessons. In-person lessons are to be held at the student's home near the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle (1206 Geneva).
Preferred start date: ASAP
Details:
Availability: Saturday 4-6pm (priority), Sunday 4-6pm, and potentially Tuesday/Thursday between 4-6pm. While these days are fixed, there may be some flexibility depending on the teacher's availability, especially for in-person lessons.
Lesson Frequency and Duration: 1 time per week, 60 minutes per session.
Current French level: Intermediate - to be assessed by teacher.
- Native language: German; also speaks English.
- Student's language needs and goals: She aims to improve her language skills in preparation for the Swiss citizenship interviews process in Geneva. The teacher should have strong knowledge of local culture, politics, and social issues, and be able to effectively guide the learner in responding to related questions in French.

- Additional information: She prefers lessons that aren't too overloaded, and that small wins, like being able to manage a conversation, help keep her motivated. Keeping lessons clear, focused and structured - but not too heavy. The learner requires the teacher to provide necessary materials, including textbooks, and written and listening exercises.
Responsibilities:
Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
Developing curricula based on learners' proficiency level and desired outcomes
Monitoring students' progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner
Qualifications:
Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in French
Degree or certification in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field
- Minimum of two years of French (FLE) teaching experience
- Experience preparing learners for the Swiss/Geneva naturalization interview is a must
