English teacher in San Jose, CA

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are currently looking for an English Language teacher to provide in-person customized lessons to our clients in San José, CA.

Job Information:

• Class 172752
• Target language: English
• Student: 1 adult
• Availability: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8-9 am or 8-9 pm
• Preferred start date: April 20
• Lesson Frequency: Twice a week
• Lesson Duration: 1 hour
• Service location: F2F @ home (Timber Creek Dr, San Jose, CA 95131, 1.3 miles from Costco)
• Current English level: Intermediate
• Native languages: Mandarin
• Student’s language needs and goals: Business professional English. How to be able to communicate better with colleagues culturally. She would like to be confident on talking and negotiation to clients and make presentations. She would also like to practice and master small talk, making friends and socializing with colleagues and people she meets outside of work.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language
• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field
• Minimum of two years of experience
